I love making homemade pizza. I usually make a pretty traditional pizza with traditional toppings but when I ended up with some leftover mango salsa, I decided to get creative. I started with a basic dough recipe that’s very simple and easy.
Here’s the dough recipe I use:
1 1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1 tablespoon olive oil
Mix the flour, salt and yeast together and add the water and olive oil until the dough gets a nice elasticity to it. Then cover and let the dough rise for about 20-30 minutes. Next roll the dough out and add the sauce and desired toppings. (For this one I used the mango salsa for the sauce, some chicken from a rotisserie chicken and a pre-grated mexican blend cheese.) Then bake for about 10 minutes in an oven preheated to 450 degrees.
This version was very tasty, but the dough is basic enough that it will work for almost any pizza flavor you can dream up!
