5 Star Wars Characters That Need Their Own Marvel Comic Series

As Star Wars fans, we’ve been seeing some exciting things happen in the world of comics. So far Marvel is doing a great job with the Star Wars franchise, but always to the future fans will look. Here are 5 characters I personally would like to see have a series of their own.

1. R2D2

Making R2 the star of his own comic would be a smart move. He’s one of the most beloved Star Wars characters and it would be intriguing to see an entire story play out from his perspective. I think there was a Droids series in the past, but I think this one should be just R2. Sorry 3P0.

2. Lando Calrissian

I’ve heard rumblings that this one might actually happen. Let’s hope that’s true! Lando’s smooth, charming demeanor would play nicely into his own series. And then there’s that cape.

3. Jabba The Hutt

Jabba may not be the prettiest character to look at, but he is interesting. Think The Godfather in space. The gritty crime underworld would be a great setting for a comic book.

4. Adi Gallia

The Princess Leia series is already selling like crazy, so let’s feature more female characters! I always thought Adi Gallia was a cool Jedi. This one could be pre-prequel and focus on the adventures of her Jedi glory days.

5. Hera

Let’s give Star Wars Rebels a little love here. We’re getting a Kanan series soon, so why not a Hera one? Personally, I’d like to see more about what she was up to before A New Dawn.

So that’s my dream list, what about you? Which Star Wars characters would you like to see have their own Marvel comic?

5 Reasons You Should Get Into Comics

IMG_4250

Do you enjoy the comic book culture but hesitate to delve completely into the world of comics?

With the release of the Marvel Star Wars #1 it’s a great time to jump right in. If you’re still on the fence, consider these 5 reasons comics should be a staple for any geek.

(1) They’re Fun

Comics are a lot of fun. They’re fun to buy, fun to collect, and fun to read. Life can be hard and comics are a great escape into a world of whimsy and adventure.

(2) Fantastic Art

Comics feature some of today’s best artists. As you collect more comics you’ll learn to recognize each artist’s particular style and come to appreciate the vast array of artistic talent out there.

(3) New Stories

The Marvel Star Wars stories are canon, so enjoy these new adventures with confidence that they actually happened in the Star Wars universe. But whether the series you’re reading is canon or not, you’re getting new stories with your favorite characters. Pretty cool.

(4) They’re Cheap

Most basic comics run for about $4-$5. That’s cheaper than going to a movie and you’ll have something tangible to go back to in the future. It’s also cheaper than a lot of other things geeks like to collect, such as action figures, games and books etc.

(5) Peer Pressure

All the cool kids are doing it. Don’t be left behind. Go out and get Marvel Star Wars #1 and while you’re at it, issue #2 comes out tomorrow, so grab them both!
